SAND AS A PLAYING ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUNG REFUGEES

In February of 2020, the project “Sand Games for Social Inclusion” presented themselves to the media in Madrid, and an interim meeting was held for partners in Greece, Italy, Romania, and Spain. The ultimate goal of this program is to improve the employability of refugees and the effectiveness of social inclusion. It has been notable progress is in the planning of l final event taking place in Kavala (Greece) during 2020, with the participation of hundreds of young refugee origin with the local population.

During the month of February 2020, the project “Sand Games for Social Inclusion” was presented to the media in Madrid, as well as an interim meeting of the partners of Greece, Italy, Romania and Spain. The ultimate goal of this program is to improve the employability of refugees and the effectiveness of social inclusion. It has made notable progress in the planning of the final event taking place in Kavala (Greece) in 2020, with the participation of hundreds of young refugees with the local population.

A round table has been held with the various participants of the project, showing some videos and intermediate results achieved. The presentation took place at the headquarters of Madrid International Lab and was attended by numerous press and radio journalists, who were particularly interested in the innovative elements of the project and planned activities in the beach environment, to improve the inclusion of young refugees. Sand Games program is supported by the European Commission.
