Festival 2016. Lyon hosts the largest Football for Good event
Red Deporte took part in the Lyon Festival by sending a delegation along with its football team, as part of Euro 2016 held in France. This edition of the festival was possibly the largest event to date using football as a tool for social change. Festival 16 brought together organizations from all over the world, all members of the streetfootballworld network.
Teams from 30 countries around the globe participated in a tournament that promotes dialogue and peace through football, using the football3 method. Workshops, talks, and official events were held with the presence of prominent European sports figures. During Festival 16, Red Deporte presented, together with other partners, the Team Up! program focused on employability through football. The festival took place at the facilities of the French organization ‘Sport dans la Ville’.
The team representing Spain, led by Red Deporte, included Keiti as a young leader, and Sara, MarÃa, Diego, and VÃctor, who played an outstanding role both on and off the field, offering their friendship and kindness and receiving the same in return during this incredible experience shared with young people from five continents.
