Collaboration with UN Women

Red Deporte, along with nine other organizations, has been selected by UN Women and Valencia Football Club to form a working group aimed at exchanging and developing techniques for women’s empowerment and gender equality through football.

Red Deporte promotes gender equality transversally across all its programs. Nevertheless, the alliance of these ten NGOs from five continents has represented a highly valuable step forward in developing competencies that allow us to enhance the quality of each of our sports programs, particularly in terms of gender equality and women’s empowerment. The workshop enabled the exchange of high-level football training activities focused on gender equality, the prevention of violence against women and girls, and the promotion of self-esteem and leadership through sport.

The participating organizations had the privilege of staying at the Valencia CF academy facilities from May 9 to 15. The training included representatives of the ten invited organizations, UN Women staff, and professional football coaches from Valencia CF.
