Soccer unites in support of refugees in Ukraine

Red Deporte, in partnership with Common Goal, is carrying out in Spain the project “Team Up for Ukraine” to ensure humanitarian support and psychosocial rehabilitation of Ukrainians affected by the war with Russia.

Red Deporte’s project aims to increase resilience and reduce the trauma faced by Ukrainians arriving in Spain. Soccer sessions, along with therapeutic workshops, play a key role in helping Ukrainian families, children and youth mitigate their plight. Red Deporte has implementing partners such as the Spanish Red Cross and Salesianos. Participants attend activities implemented by Red Deporte and Spanish courses.

Through the therapeutic power of play, handicrafts, listening sessions and soccer-based games, the rehabilitation process and integration in the host country is improved. The vast majority of participants say they have improved their mood and feel more integrated thanks to the program.
