RED DEPORTE INVITED TO THE FIRST “SPORT AND FAITH” MEETING.

Red Deporte participated in the meeting organized by the Catholic community of Spain from March 9 to 10, 2023, aimed at discussing and delving into the existing bridges between faith and sports. These sessions included personalities from communication, competition, education, and social integration.

The discussion focused on the importance of faith in God, in others, or in oneself, as an element of overcoming challenges, and even indispensable, for reaching high goals. The role faith plays in sports, extending from professional and elite sports to countless fields located in the neighborhoods on the outskirts of the world.

We heard testimonies from footballers such as Mista (former Real Madrid or Valencia CF), and Olympic medalists like José Manuel Abascal, the president of the Spanish Football League, Javier Tebas, and representatives from various clubs. Red Deporte shared its testimony of 24 years of work in social intervention programs through sports, collaborating with numerous missions, and how faith is an indispensable element in the lives of a large proportion of the participants in our programs.
