On 4 September, we had the opportunity to collaborate with Baxter International Inc. to offer children from our local community in Barrio del Pilar, Madrid, a special day filled with learning, discovery and new experiences.
The aim was to introduce participants to activities they might not normally have the opportunity to experience. Throughout the day, the children tried golf for the first time ⛳️ and took part in a robotics class 🤖, discovering two very different disciplines that sparked their curiosity and allowed them to learn in a practical and enjoyable way.
The day was full of curiosity, participation and enthusiasm for learning. For many participants, both golf and robotics were completely new experiences. Beyond learning the basics, the children had the chance to try something unfamiliar, experiment, ask questions, work together and discover new skills and interests.
Sport and education to open up new opportunities
Access to different activities can have a significant impact on young people’s development. A first encounter with a sport such as golf, or with technology and robotics, can spark new interests, career ambitions and aspirations. We believe that offering these experiences is also a way to help children discover what they are capable of achieving.
This collaboration with Baxter allowed us to go beyond our usual sporting activities and introduce our community to new areas of learning. It was also an opportunity to show participants that there are many different ways to learn, create, solve problems and work as a team.
