RED DEPORTE HEALTH PROGRAM

AN INVISIBLE REALITY:

Red Deporte, as part of its human trafficking awareness program, has carried out educational sessions in Salamanca and León, aimed at secondary school students and teachers. Through these sessions, the issue of human trafficking has been addressed, with a particular focus on the situation of young Nepalese women, supported by the Regional Government of Castilla y León.

Red Deporte, through the program “Raising Awareness and Educating on the Phenomenon of Human Trafficking, with Special Focus on Young Nepalese Women”, conducted awareness sessions in Salamanca and León throughout 2024, targeting secondary school students and teachers.

Students from Salesianas Béjar School and María Auxiliadora Vocational Training Center in León took part in interactive sessions on migration flows in Spain, Europe, and around the world.

Our facilitators helped bring visibility to the issue of human trafficking, generating enriching debates with participants. During these sessions, key issues were discussed, such as the differences between human trafficking, illegal immigration, and human smuggling—crimes that often have an unseen impact. In addition to promoting critical thinking, Red Deporte aims to contribute to the eradication of this reality at both local and international levels.

The recognition of this work by the Regional Government of Castilla y León will allow the program to be expanded to more schools and universities in the region in 2025. New awareness and training initiatives are planned for educational and sports environments, with the goal of continuing to raise awareness and inspire action against human trafficking.
